Welcome

Desprately in need of a hobby that doesn't involve craft glue, sewing, or excessive trips to Michelles (seriously not my thing), i decided to start my very own blog. What a blog is or suppossed to be i haven't the foggiest. I'm am a first time mother and a newly wed. My daughter being a year old now and with her own agenda that has left me with less to do during the day. Like most husbands mine works during the day, he is in the United States Navy, and will be gone alot. One thing that helps us Navy wives get though the sometimes long underways, is keeping busy. I plan to have some adventures and do some personal growth while my dh is gone. I will be blogging about it all, for your enjoyment. ♥ femme au foyer

la nouvelle année jusqu'à présent ♥

Ahh, the new year. What a great start it has been. I've been working daily on keeping up on my FLY routine. As promised it has given me peace of mind and my house looks great. The first week i spent "catching up" getting rid of all the extra stuff that i had stuffed in closets, cupboards, ect. That gave me so much more room and i felt so good to have gotten rid of the old junk that was cluttering my house.

I then moved on to reorganizing and making sure everything was in its place. Now that's all accomplished i have been on a nice daily routine and i don't have to think about what to do next and things a running smoothly. I'm no longer frazzled and spending the last 15 minutes before my DH omes home getting dressed and finishing up what used to be a long to-do list that just kept getting longer. He now comes home to dinner being made, our daughter contentedly playing with her toys in the living room, the house being spotless, me being dressed and face made up, and me, most importantly, being frazzle free. we;ve been enjoying more sit down meals, and wind down for the night just enjoying each other. Our relationship has improved so much since i started working on this.

Also I've started doing yoga and a fitness routine attempting to loose the after baby weight i gained this last year. I feel so much better. I also find my husband alot happier and really helpful. The last week or so I've had the most horrible cold and for a couple days i spent them trying to kick the crud by resting up. He cooked some dinners and entertained our daughter and even did a few bigger projects that i had on my to-do list. Its been such a big change for such a short time. We're moving through the days with ease and truly enjoying life. If you haven't heard of fly lady check it out at flylady.com.

In other news I purchased the Your Baby Can Read program for my daughter. I just cannot wait for it to arrive! i look forward to spending that time with her & i just know she's going to love it. It was a little on the steep side but i plan on getting my moneys worth and sharing with my sister in law ia her son when we get done with a section.

In Abbie news, she's getting big so fast. We went through her clothes yesterday and we had to pack up alot of them because she just went through a growths spurt in, i swear to you, a week and a half. she went from 18 months to 24 months! She's also saying more words. Like, stop it (when daddy's tickling her), no, hi you, come here, here you go, up, down, baby, Abbie, molly, oww (this is my new favorite when she feels like the spot light is not on her she will literally throw her self to the ground and put her hand on her head and say "owwww" all pathetic like ready to rake in the pity) and i pooped....her daddy is so proud...not too proud about that one. I was raised to keep my bodily functions to myself or at least be polite about it. I think my MIL tried that with my husband but it never stuck.

We were in the grocery store a couple weeks ago and Abbie was in the cart, chattering away, waving at people "hello, hi there!, hiii" and a woman approaches me. "oh she's just so darling, i love that little outfit you have on her.." i thanked her and told Abbie to say thank you..."can she say that?" i replied yes ma'am she can "oh can you," she asked Abbie "say thank you" Abbie looks at her and with a big smile on her face "i pooped".....the woman thought it was hilarious and i was sooo embarrassed. Abbie has so many good manners and says really sweet things and she comes out with "i pooped." definitely her fathers daughter.

I almost forgot...I have the BEST news. My husband, decided to reenlist and is very happy about it. The ship he currently is on will be going to the gulf for ten months. He got the chance to pick his orders (picking a new station) and he tried to get on a ship that will be dry docked (worked on in the ship yard) for the next 18 months. That way he could be closer to us and come home everyday. We'll sadly they said that he couldn't get on that ship. However when he inquired why they said that they wouldn't allow him to do three sea commands in a row and that the Navy was forcing him to go to shore duty...*insert biggest smile ever* oh, darnnn. We got exactly what we hoped for. No enduring any underway or deployments for a couple years we get 4 years of getting to have him home with us and we'll get to move to another base somewhere in the area so we'll be looking for another house to rent out. I can't even express how relieved and happy i am. I think I've been holding my breath for about a year now and its finally over and things are going in a great direction. I'm looking forward to our future.

Anyways happy news all around. Other than being plagued with this cold...ugh. I feel so grosss. Like a NyQuil commercial before, taking NyQuil....anyhow. I've gotta see what my little monster thinks is so funny....she just shut her bedroom door and is laughing hysterically...never a good sign.

où dans le monde est abbigale ♥

My husband and i came up with an idea for this summer. we plan to go to different areas around Washington and take pictures of our daughter next to landmarks and leave clues of her where abouts. our cousins torri and lizzie will be the ones trying to guess where she is. if they guess right we'll be sending them a prize!! i thought it would be a fun way to keep in touch & get to know the girls. :D
